Life on the water

There is something in me that craves sunshine, warm weather, and the water. I love being on the water. Anyway.. one of my favorite parts of the summer is being a kayak instructor for this rock & river camp through Ultimate Watersports & Earth Treks. Pretty awesome camp. Many know I do this, but many have not seen how cool it actually is. Here are a few shots from our days out on the water. Although,  I wish there were some class IV's and V's in there, that might be just a bit too intense for some of these kids. So... don't be disappointed if you don't see a sick shot of some kid racing down a waterfall. I'll make sure to get that shot on one of my upcoming trips.
All the kids are geared up in their kayaks and accounted for ...(I might soon find out I'm sharing my lunch, my water, or the shirt off my back..I've learned that no matter how many times you tell these kids don't forget this or that, its bound to happen, guess that's why I must be over-prepared)  Anyway the start to a wonderful day!

The mornings are always foggy and the water is ice ice cold!

Nothing wrong with a little friendly upstream kayaking battles between the kids... and Tyler can't feel his legs :)

Came up to all these butterflies in a huge huddle on the river bank, got a lot of shots of them, I thought it was the coolest thing. Later I found out while watching the Discovery channel that they were definitely mating. Ha.
Waterfall hike, we walk up the river through waterfalls

Rock skipping contests. So fun!

Playing in one of the waterfalls

Coming up on a rapid...
Pulled off this shot... camera balancing on some rocks.  Surprised we all didn't go toppling down the waterfall that was behind us :)
